Underlayments

Regarding flooring installation, the underlayment plays a crucial role in ensuring the long-term durability and performance of the finished floor or wall. Underlayments provide a stable and smooth surface for flooring, offering protection against moisture and minimizing the risk of cracking or shifting.

ITS offers two options specifically designed for floating, laminate, wood, or vinyl flooring only.

Sonic Isolation Underlayments:

Sonic isolation underlayments, also known as sound control underlayments, are engineered to reduce impact noise and minimize sound transmission between floors. These underlayments are especially valuable in multi-story buildings, apartments, or condominiums where minimizing noise transfer between units is essential. Sonic isolation underlayments often feature materials that absorb and dissipate impact noise, such as cork, rubber, or foam, effectively creating a quieter and more peaceful environment.

Moisture Barrier Underlayments:

Underlayments with moisture barriers are designed to shield the floor from moisture, stopping water from seeping through and causing harm to the subfloor and vinyl or wood flooring. These underlayments are especially useful in areas that are prone to high humidity, like bathrooms, kitchens, and basements. They are usually made of materials that don't allow water to pass through, such as rubber, plastic, or asphalt, and are installed under the tile to prevent moisture from getting in.
